Conservation Strategies

Fans cool people, not spaces.

Air Conditioning, Conservation Strategies

We’re fans of fans. They consume less energy than air conditioners, and can make the air feel at least 5 degrees cooler. But they don’t change the actual temperature of the air in a room. Instead, they keep you cool by using the wind chill effect – that’s what makes you feel cooler by accelerating the evaporation of perspiration on your skin. When not in the room, always make sure to turn your fans off to conserve. Because without you around, leaving them on wastes energy — and no one’s a fan of that.
