Natural Gas

$125 Joint SoCalGas and Southern California Edison Rebate: Residential customers who buy or already have an eligible thermostat can earn $125 from the two utilities, plus the potential to earn $60 in bill credits each year,  for signing up for the Save Power Days program.

Thermostat Rebate: SoCalGas offers a $50 rebate for customers who purchase eligible thermostats

Seasonal Savings Program: SoCalGas is offering a residential program this winter to help customers conserve natural gas and save on their heating bills. Customers opt into the program through their Nest thermostat, which then subtly fine tunes their heating use. Last year customers on the program saved 8 percent on their heating bill.

Reduce Your Use Thermostat program – get a free ecobee smart thermostat when you sign up for Reduce Your Use Rewards.

Get a rebate of up to $1,250 toward a new air-conditioning system – or a $50 A/C inspection and maintenance service valued at $300 – through AC Quality Care.

Home Rewards Program provides cash rebates for your efficient home improvements and appliances.

Home Improvement Program provides an in-home evaluation of how your home can become more energy and water efficient as well as installation of efficiency goods and services, all at no cost to Burbank residents. Products and services offered include attic insulation, central air conditioning system tune-up, duct sealing, high efficiency toilets, energy saving light bulbs, water saving shower-heads and faucet aerators, and much more!

Smart Home AC Tune Up – AC system tune-ups help residential customers save energy by ensuring their air conditioning systems are functioning at the optimal level.

Energy & Water Saving Rebates – Helps residential customers save money on energy and water bills by offering rebates on eligible products.

Residential and Small Business Solar Solutions Program – Incentives for residents and small businesses to install grid connected solar photovoltaic systems.

Tree Power Free Shade Trees – Free shade trees to cool your home. Customers can choose from a variety of 30 trees.

Feed-in Tariff Program – FiT A FiT, is a standard price offered to pay producers of renewable power for the power that the producer feeds into the grid.

Large Business Incentives Program – Incentives for large businesses to complete pre-approved energy saving projects.

SoCal Water Smart Program – Rebates are available for several water-efficient technologies to help businesses lower bills, reduce energy costs and address environmental impact.

Smart Business AC Tune-Up – AC system tune-ups help small business customers save energy by ensuring their air conditioning systems are functioning at the optimal level.

Fiber Optic Solutions Program – Provides both large and small commercial customers optical fiber lease services both within the City limits and to adjacent City’s.

Smart Business Energy Saving Upgrade Program – Receive up to $2,000 in free energy and water saving upgrades through this simple hassle-free program.

Available Programs

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) offers customers many programs and rebates to save electricity and water. To learn about LADWP’s outlook for summer reliability, visit www.myLADWP.com. For electricity and water saving tips, click on “How to Save.”

For Residential Customers:

APPLIANCE RECYCLING PROGRAM
Residential customers can receive a $50 rebate, along with free pick-up, when they turn-in older refrigerators and freezers.

POOL PUMP REBATE PROGRAM
The Certified Pool Pump Replacement (CPPR) Program offers, for a limited time, up to a $1,000 rebate to LADWP residential customers who have in-ground swimming pools filtered with a single-speed pool pump.

ENERGY-SAVING CONSUMER REBATES
LADWP offers the Consumer Rebate Program (CRP) to our residential customers to promote the use of energy-efficient products. This program is designed to both educate and encourage LADWP residential customers to purchase and install qualifying products in their home. Rebates are offered for various measures such as pool pump motors, high-efficiency windows, heating ventilation and air condition (HVAC) systems, refrigerator/freezer recycling, whole house fans, and others.

For Commercial Customers:

SUMMER SHIFT ENERGY SAVING PROGRAM
Summer Shift is a new energy saving program that aims to reduce the risk of outages this summer resulting from the limited availability of natural gas from the Aliso Canyon Natural Gas Storage Facility. Offered from July through September 2016 for large commercial and industrial customers, SummerShift will provide an incentive of $10.00 per kilowatt (kW) for shifting your energy use away from high demand, peak periods to off-peak periods.

COMMERCIAL LIGHTING INCENTIVE PROGRAM (CLIP)
CLIP offers incentives to help make a wide variety of high-performance lamps and lighting fixtures cost-effective, and targets any size business that still utilizes standard fixtures. CLIP is designed to be consistent with California’s statewide lighting programs, leveraging established contractor networks to offer non-residential customers a full suite of lighting products and services to improve the energy efficiency in their businesses by upgrading/retrofitting core lighting systems. CLIP’s calculated savings approach allows customers to tailor lighting efficiency upgrades to better meet their lighting needs and attain greater energy savings.

NEW CONSTRUCTION/SAVINGS BY DESIGN
LADWP and Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas®) are working together to offer incentives designed to benefit owners and developers of new commercial building via the statewide Savings By Design (SBD) program. LADWP’s New Construction Program will offer incentives for projects which do not meet the SBD requirements, but exceed Title 24 requirements by 10% or greater and are past the design phase.

Residential Electric Rebate Programs

Energy Star Appliances – rebates for purchase of Energy Star rated refrigerators, dishwashers, clothes washers, room air conditioners, ceiling fans and televisions (Res Cooling, Res dishwashers, Res Clothes Washers, Res Electronics).

Cool Cash – rebates for replacing Central Air Conditioners with a SEER rating of 15 above (Res Cooling)

Tree Power – rebates for purchasing and planting of up to 5 qualifying shade trees per year and 1 free qualifying shade tree coupon printed on the March back of the bill (Res Cooling).

Pool Pump – rebates for purchase and installation of high efficiency, variable speed or multiflow pool pump motors (Res Pool Pump).

Pool Pump Billing Credit – electric customers receive $5 towards their monthly bill for every month they use their pool pumps during off-peak hours.

Weatherization – rebates for installing attic insulation or wall insulation, standard rebates for duct replacement, duct testing/sealing, window film, solar and standard attic fans, whole house fans and cool roofs (Res Shell, Res Cooling).

Appliance Recycling – free recycling service for old inefficient refrigerators and freezers (Res Refrigeration).

Whole House Rebate Program – rebates for completing multiple energy efficiency measures as one project. Points are awarded for each type of measure and then multipliers are given at specific point intervals on a sliding scale to encourage implementation of multiple energy efficiency measures as one project under one application (Res Comprehensive).

Single Family Home Upgrade
Energy Upgrade California® Home Upgrade is a menu-based, prescriptive program that provides incentives for single-family home energy efficient retrofits by promoting interactive whole-home combinations of measures such as: insulation; HVAC equipment replacement; duct replacement/repairs; air sealing; and hot water systems.

Single Family Loan Loss Reserve
SOCALREN has partnered with Matador’s Credit Union to provide single family homeowners with financing for their Energy Upgrade California Home Upgrade projects. Three loan options are available to qualified buyers: a 4.99%, 5-year term loan; a 5.99%, 10-year term loan; or a 6.99%, 15-year term unsecured loan of up to $50,000 to qualified borrowers.

Multi-Family Home Upgrade
Similar to Single Family Home Upgrade, this program provides incentives to multifamily building owners to implement comprehensive, interactive energy efficiency measures. The program offers an assessment incentive to help offset the cost of energy audits, and offers free technical assistance, as well as an improvement incentive to help offset the cost of purchasing and installing conservation measures to meet a targeted improvement in the building’s performance.

Realtor Outreach/Building Labeling
The Green Real Estate Program trains and certifies realtors to the National Association of Realtors Green Designation. This training teaches them the value of conducting green home upgrade projects, including energy efficiency upgrades through workshops and other modes of outreach and training.

Low-Income Single Family Rehabilitation Program
This program seeks to develop and implement a business process that connects Community Development Commission (CDC) program clients to the Home Upgrade program via outreach and coordination of the respective programs’ requirements.

The CDC Home Improvement Program assists low income, owner-occupied single family homes with rehabilitation financing of up to $25,000 for Home Upgrade qualifying measures.

Commercial PACE
The program provides financing for non-residential properties through County-issued bonds for private sector energy projects, which are then paid back through assessments placed on building owners’ property tax statements. The program also provides marketing, education, recruitment, and technical support to property owners.


For public agency programs the following programs are available:

Public Agency Technical Support
SOCALREN Public Agency Program identifies energy saving measures and works side-by-side with agency staff from designing performance specifications through construction to help accomplish energy efficiency projects.

SOCALREN does this by offering a full turnkey solution that makes cost effective upgrades to public facilities faster than was previously possible.  Services include project start-to-finish management support, technical assistance, access to financing, competitively bid specialty contractors, transparent pricing and assistance with utility rebate processing, and benchmark facility energy usage and costs.

Public Agency Financing
This program offers public agencies with access to centralized, standardized, and streamlined energy retrofit services such as: financing, project management, energy auditing, design and engineering, and contract procurement assistance, all delivered through competitively bid pools of pre-qualified energy project contractors.
